Update!

Long time, no update.
Even though I have let this blog slip away, i've stuck to my diet and dropped down from the 240ish weight I was at the beggining of my senior year to a weight of 165.
This seems like an enormous amount when read or written, but to me, i'm still looking at a very large, very unhappy girl.
While my initial goal is to be 140lbs by graduation (which is roughly 2 months away, give or take), I plan on continuing my diet afterwards until i'm around 125lbs.
This would put me around the middle of the suggested weight for a girl my age and height.
As far as dieting went, I rarely cheated, and when I did I felt an extreme amount of guilt, which made it harder to want to cheat the next time.
However, now that prom is over and done with, i've allowed myself to go up from my 16 pts a day diet, to a 20-21pts a day diet, depending on my hunger.
While I enjoy the idea of losing fast, I simply became tired of always being hungry and my body simply wasn't getting what it really needed - some good ol fat every once in a while.
I've also become much more lenient on cheating. While I still feel that strong guilt, i've been telling myself that i've gotten this far, and I deserve to be happy food wise on occassion. I AM a teenager trying to live life to the fullest and enjoy my senior year, and with that comes situations where I simply want to eat what my friends are eating. And that's exactly what i'm doing.
Now as far as self esteem goes, i've found that with my weight loss came more problems with myself. This sounds silly, but I feel worse now that I physically look better. I've been focusing so much on my body since August, that all I can see now is what I still need to work on and what looks terrible. Not how much i've done and how much better I look. It gets hard, but i'm working on letting myself be happy with what i've accomplished and look forward to further results.

I'm trying to find pictures to post before and afters.
But sadly, I rarely took full body shots when I was larger, and I didn't think to take any for motivation. :/ So if I don't find any before, i'll just go ahead and post my currents.
Hopefully they'll be up soon!

Another Day, Another Food Journal.

Blog Entry
Today was a pretty rough day.
I was feeling very under the weather, and when i start feeling sick - I start craving sweets.
I did a fantastic job at the beginning of the day though.
However, i am noticing I eat far to many carbs and not enough proteins.
That's always been a struggle for me, and at one point, i was a vegetarian so protein intake was almost non exsistent for me.
It's something i need to work on so i can continue burning fat at a little bit of a faster pace.
At the end of the night though, i did sneak a bite size candy in.
My mom always told me that "these are perfect for diets. Stick to JUST ONE and it'll kick that sweet tooth and help prevent cheating at night."
And that's exactly what it did.
I'm not going to count the points for that, because i feel that a small cheat every now and then will only make my stick to my diet that much more.
I have also noticed that i've been sticking to the same foods because they're quick and yummy.
I need to work on meals with a little diversity.

My Current Thoughts on my Weight Loss!

BLOG ENTRY

I've been at this diet for I want to say a little over 2 months.
I've lost around 35 pounds in that amount of time.
My Weight Watchers diet has gotten so much easier in the sense that i'm able to eat reasonable portions of food and feel full.
However, Halloween had to have been the most difficult thing i've had to go through on this diet.
I'm in a new neighborhood, and we bought bags and bags of candy expecting plenty of trick-or-treaters.
However, only around 20 kids showed up, because most of the kids who live here are more my age (high school).
So I got stuck not only having to give out the candy and not have any, but watch my family eat the leftover.
I got through it, and i'm proud.
I'm living by my motto "The results you'll achieve from staying on track will taste so much sweeter then anything you could ever eat."
With that, i'll keep pushing harder and harder until I reach my goal weight, which is 120 pounds by summer.
Which means i have 75 pounds to lose in 7 months.
I feel that this is a healthy weight for a 5'2 girl.
I'm going to work hard to achieve this. This WW diet is the hardest thing i've ever put myself through willingly.
And if I don't reach it by then, who says I won't reach it eventually?
Stay Healthy. Stay Positive. xoxo - Jessica!
